Frequently Asked Questions About Online Counseling in Texas

Frequently Asked Questions About Online Counseling in Texas

How do online counseling sessions in Texas, typically last?

50 minutes

What happens during the first online counseling session in Texas?

During the first online counseling session, we will get to know each other a little bit, and you will let me know what is going on. I will ask you a few questions to ensure I have enough information to create a treatment plan that meets your needs.

How do I know if I (or my child) needs counseling?

During your first online session, we will talk, and I will ask you a few questions. You can decide together whether counseling will help you feel better.

How often will I need to come to counseling in Texas?

Clients usually come to online counseling once a week at first, and when they start feeling better, they can go every other week, then once a month, until they feel they will be o.k. without counseling. Clients are always welcome to reschedule if they feel the need after counseling ends.

How long will I need to come to counseling?

Usually, clients come to online counseling for three to six months, with some feeling better sooner and others asking for more time. I will check on your progress at each session to evaluate whether I am meeting your goals, and then determine when it is best for counseling to end for you. Remember that you are always welcome to reschedule if you feel the need after counseling ends.

Are sessions covered by my insurance?

I currently accept Cigna, Ascension (SmartHealth), and Carelon Behavioral Health insurance.

If you are not covered by those, and you have an HMO, you will find someone on your list so that your insurance will cover your therapy, and I will be happy to review the list with you.

If you have PPO, you will pay me at the beginning of our session, then I will give you a special receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement to you.

Do you have evening and weekend appointments available in Texas?

Currently, I am offering evening (4:00-6:00) and morning weekend sessions (8:00-noon).

Where do sessions take place?
